Together we will make a difference in Nepal

man and child nepalJust over two weeks ago, Nepal was devastated by an earthquake which measured 7.8 magnitude. The quake was the worst to hit since 1934, with thousands losing their homes and loved ones.

The 12th of May saw another powerful 7.3 magnitude quake hit just 80km from the capital, Kathmandu. The quake has already taken 42 lives and injured more than 18,000 people. With every day that passes, those who were made homeless by the disaster continue to suffer without basic necessities and search and rescue efforts don’t have adequate resources.

Currently, more than 8,000 people are dead, over 18,000 more are injured and around 300,000 homes have been destroyed.

We want to donate more to further relief efforts and with your help we can make a difference.

How can I help?

woman with child nepalThe best way to support relief efforts in Nepal is to donate cash. When we first saw the devastation in Nepal, we donated $6,000 to help provide food, shelter and clean drinking water for those who had lost their families and homes. This second catastophic quake means that more must be raised to help rebuild Nepal. We aim to raise another $6,000 to provide further lifesaving relief.

Our promise

Our pledge is to match all eligible public donations dollar for dollar up to the value of $3,000. This means any amount you donate to help Nepal will be matched by us to double your donation. Just send us a confirmation of the amount you gave.

Double your donation

Firstly, make your donation. We chose to give to UNHCR, but you can donate to any of the below trusted charities. Simply click on one of the links to go to the donation page.

Once you have made your donation, ensure you have received a receipt from the charity.

When you have the receipt, all you need to do is email it to care@electriciantotherescue.com.au and we will respond with a verification of your eligible donation and a confirmation that we have matched your pledge. Once we have finalised the total amount raised, we will then send you a final update so you can see how your contribution will make a difference to the people of Nepal.

Thanks so much,

Tim from Plumber To The Rescue
